MY DRESS: Sherri Hill

Today was my last monday of high school!! How crazy is that?! I still feel like i’m a little kid, it’s weird to grow up! This past Saturday was my senior prom, and it was worth the wait! I think my favorite part is the getting ready and putting your dress on and seeing it all come together! I am definitely a huge planner when it comes to anything and everything! Of course prom was no exception! Now all my senior friends this of course was our last high school dance, but this post pretty much goes for any major formal event you have coming up! If you want to see how to stay calm through the months of planning something like this then just keep on reading!

| Transportation |

When it comes to transportation for a dance or formal that should always be one of your first things to get figured out! You don’t have to have a party bus or limo for your night to be fun, we just rode with our dates, and some couples carpooled and it worked out perfectly! If you and your group want a bus though I recommend finding one about 4 months out from your event!

Dress to impress|

Finding the perfect dress can be stressful, but my freshman year I found this dress store up in Dallas called Terry Costa which I absolutely love and the selection of dresses and customer service is amazing I totally recommend going!

| Hair and Make up |

Once you have your dress, go to Pinterest and start finding ideas that will compliment your dress! I went for an old hollywood/Blake Lively look, and I love how it all came together! I did my own hair and make up and I always do it myself since I don’t really trust anyone else haha! I know this sounds early but start or get you make up done at 12 or 1 and hair done at 2:30! If you don’t like something you still have enough time to fix what you need!

| Date |

This can be easier said then done, but even if you don’t have a date then still go to the dance! Get a group of girlfriends or go in a group with dates, honestly you don’t need a date! At pictures everyone takes pictures with each other and dinner is mixed up! Don’t feel ashamed if you don’t have someone because thats not important!

Now here is a timeline of how my day went before prom…

  • 8:00 AM wake up (early bird)
  • 9:00 AM eat some breakfast (I could lie and tell you I had this really healthy breakfast, but honestly I had a donut LOL)
  • 10:00-12:00 (relax)
  • 12:00-1:00 PM (do make up with occasional breaks)
  • 1:00-2:30 PM (do my hair)
  • 2:30-4:00 PM ( do a friends hair and make up)
  • 4:00-4:30 PM (finishing touches and put on my dress)
  • 4:30-5:00( pictures with my family then head to pictures)

Hopefully this helped y’all in anyway, and i’m sorry for being so absent lately but after next week I promise I will get back into the routine of things! Love y’all so much and good luck on finals for anyone who has to take them! Have a great rest of your week!!

Quote of the week:

“And if I asked you to name all the things you love, how long would it take for you to name yourself?”
