My Go-To Summer Make up Products

IMG_5271IMG_5270IMG_5272IMG_5269

Today is officially my first day of summer and all I can think is Carpe Diem because i’m done with high school!! I have some awesome and adorable summer posts in the works, but I thought what better then my go to make up products to spring us into summer! I hope everyone is having an amazing summer so far, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing vacations everyone goes on soon!

Primer: I am a strong believer in primer and that you really do need it for your make up to stay put. I have never really been hooked on a particular primer so if anyone has any good ones for dry skin i’m all ears. The newest primer that i’m using and loving is the Prime Light by MILANI. Milani has amazing products that i recommend checking out.

Foundation/Concealer: Since I am a dry skin gal I prefer very glowy and duey make up looks. The infallible PRO-GLOW is amazing, it has good coverage while still staying glowy minus the cake up. The hourglass stick foundation is a pricey little snob that i’m obsessed with, I use this everyday now ever since I got it in my tan shade. If you’re leaning towards it get it, you wont be disappointed. Tarte tape shape concealer is perfection in a tube, once you try it you will be hooked, by far my favorite product I own.

Contour and Highlight: The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit is amazing! I’ve had it for about 6-7 months now and I use it everyday! I don’t care for the highlighting shades, but the contour shades are worth it. I use different highlights everyday some blinding and some subtle, but when it comes to an inner glow or “no make up make up look” I use The Becca highlight in Rose quartz and it gives an amazing look to the cheek.

Eyeshadow/Mascara: For mascara the lights, camera, lashes by Tarte is perfect for lengthening your lashes, and I mean look at the packaging its so fun! The Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette is perfect for everyone you can create a simple or dramatic look with this palette which is filled with browns, oranges, and pink tones!

Im so excited that graduation is only a few days away! Thank you to everyone who has been there by my side through it all! Hopefully everyone will have a fun and safe summer! See y’all soon!!

Grad Party Tips & Tricks + Life Update

Long time no see!!! I feel like the biggest loser since I haven’t blogged in several days, but I promise this week will get back to normal! Anyways HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!! First off, Thank you to anyone and everyone who fights for our country, we are forever indebted to you! Since its grad season and I understand the stress of putting a grad party together, I thought it would be perfect for you all to give my best advice on how to have a successful party!

  1. Plan Ahead!!! It took a month just for my cake to be ready, but I absolutely love the place that did it! When it comes to food make sure to get an idea of how many people you will be feeding, if its come and go(which is what I had) or sit down/formal! Figure out what colors you want, if it will be your future school colors or something more like your personality!
  2. Food- For my party I had a huge variety for all types of people! I put Dylan and Andrew on sandwich duty, which meant they cut the crust off of 3 loafs of bread and made little finger sandwichs(best boyfriends award?) Both my grandmas made the pinwheels shown above which were a huge hit, and are my new summer snack for sure! Desert is huge to me so I had Target specially make super cute flower cupcakes which I totally recommend because they aren’t bad in price and really good!
  3. Color scheme- To me I am super girly and chic so thats exactly what my party had to resemble, if you are die hard for your university then go with that and Pinterest has some really cute ideas on each individual school!
  4. Get extra hands- Ask family to help you! We made all of the food the day of and everyone had an assignment/project to get done! Now we aren’t perfect and Ashlyn and I did have to go to 8 different places in an hour and a half LOL since we forgot little things! Take charge and get everything done at least the day before!
  5. Fun Projects- I am super big on quotes and advice so I put out a box and asked for people to write me advice for my future and I absolutely loved every bit of it and cherish what everyone said so much! I also printed out a picture of one of my senior pictures and had people write messages going around it! You don’t have to use those exact things, but Pinterest has some really great ideas that are similar!

Hopefully that helped my party planners out, and I hope y’alls partys go off without a hitch! Exciting news!! Tomorrow is my last day of high school! Thats crazy to think this Sunday I will be graduated from high school and off to Fort Worth! I have a question for everyone who is interested, I am thinking of starting my own online boutique, clothes that represents a strong, chic, city girl! If any of y’all would be interested please feel free to reach out to me with any opinions! Have a great week everyone! Since I had my friends leave me advice I thought I would turn one into a quote of the week! Talk soon loves!

Hello lovely ladies! I was going to post this yesterday, but I had an allergic reaction to peanuts so I went through a lot yesterday and was unable to post! Its crazy I only have 2 days left of high school. I’m so ready to graduate. Well I hope you all finish school strong. Now on to my favorite part!!!

I was in Target when I saw this adorable jumpsuit and I had to get it. I seriously love Target its perfect, I can pick up some make up, clothes, decor, and food at this store! What makes it even better is that the clothes are super cute! Yes you have to dig around sometimes, but most the time you’ll find such cute things! If you’re wanting something new and cute for summer, but you are on a budget definitely swing by there! Also the earrings are so cute! Most earrings are only $10.00, when at other places they are $60?! Which is crazy for earrings in my opinion! You will find such great pieces at affordable prices!

Also some big news…I cut my hair!!! I decided the day after prom I wanted a change and trust me cutting my hair was a huge decision and I love it! Can’t wait for y’all to see it! This weekend is my grad party so on mondays post I will be giving advice on how to plan a party, and some really cool DIYS i’ve done! Hope y’all have a great rest of y’alls week and I will see you lovlies soon!

How to have a stress free prom

IMG_5015IMG_4958IMG_5014IMG_5008IMG_5013IMG_5005IMG_5021IMG_5018

MY DRESS: Sherri Hill

Today was my last monday of high school!! How crazy is that?! I still feel like i’m a little kid, it’s weird to grow up! This past Saturday was my senior prom, and it was worth the wait! I think my favorite part is the getting ready and putting your dress on and seeing it all come together! I am definitely a huge planner when it comes to anything and everything! Of course prom was no exception! Now all my senior friends this of course was our last high school dance, but this post pretty much goes for any major formal event you have coming up! If you want to see how to stay calm through the months of planning something like this then just keep on reading!

| Transportation |

When it comes to transportation for a dance or formal that should always be one of your first things to get figured out! You don’t have to have a party bus or limo for your night to be fun, we just rode with our dates, and some couples carpooled and it worked out perfectly! If you and your group want a bus though I recommend finding one about 4 months out from your event!

Dress to impress|

Finding the perfect dress can be stressful, but my freshman year I found this dress store up in Dallas called Terry Costa which I absolutely love and the selection of dresses and customer service is amazing I totally recommend going!

| Hair and Make up |

Once you have your dress, go to Pinterest and start finding ideas that will compliment your dress! I went for an old hollywood/Blake Lively look, and I love how it all came together! I did my own hair and make up and I always do it myself since I don’t really trust anyone else haha! I know this sounds early but start or get you make up done at 12 or 1 and hair done at 2:30! If you don’t like something you still have enough time to fix what you need!

| Date |

This can be easier said then done, but even if you don’t have a date then still go to the dance! Get a group of girlfriends or go in a group with dates, honestly you don’t need a date! At pictures everyone takes pictures with each other and dinner is mixed up! Don’t feel ashamed if you don’t have someone because thats not important!

Now here is a timeline of how my day went before prom…

  • 8:00 AM wake up (early bird)
  • 9:00 AM eat some breakfast (I could lie and tell you I had this really healthy breakfast, but honestly I had a donut LOL)
  • 10:00-12:00 (relax)
  • 12:00-1:00 PM (do make up with occasional breaks)
  • 1:00-2:30 PM (do my hair)
  • 2:30-4:00 PM ( do a friends hair and make up)
  • 4:00-4:30 PM (finishing touches and put on my dress)
  • 4:30-5:00( pictures with my family then head to pictures)

Hopefully this helped y’all in anyway, and i’m sorry for being so absent lately but after next week I promise I will get back into the routine of things! Love y’all so much and good luck on finals for anyone who has to take them! Have a great rest of your week!!

Long time no see lovelies!! 4 days is way to long to go without writing, but with prom this saturday life is very hectic right now. Speaking of prom if y’all would like a prom essentials post just comment or email me letting me know.

So as most of you know last weekend I went down to Corpus Christi for my sister Ashley’s graduation with my family and all our boyfriends. It was such a fun weekend and I loved having family time and surprise surprise there was absolutely no drama, which usually on our vacations someone always gets their feelings hurt by a joke someone else makes *cough cough* (Ashlyn and I) haha. We all got in Friday and just had a fun night relaxing before the crazy next few days.

Saturday and Sunday I woke up and made breakfast for everyone so we can start our days off right. We then went on to seeing my Ashley graduate college(the first in my family actually) After that we had a nice rest of our evening enjoying mango mojitos and some good food. Saturday night we ate at this restaurant on the pier in North Padre, and all of a sudden I hear the live band members saying “Hailey, Hailey Sewell can you please stand up? Will you go to prom with Dylan?” Seriously so cute!! I was not expecting it in that moment, but it was so perfect.

I hope all the moms out there had an amazing mothers day! We threw a surprise party for Ashlyn’s boyfriend Andrew’s mom, and she was really not expecting it! The whole weekend was a success.

Now on to the good stuff…Summer is literally right around the corner!! Here are some summer/beach essentials you should invest in for summer 2017…

blog Fb Bg

TGIF beautiful people!!!

So since today I am leaving out for a fun family weekend The next time i post won’t be until Monday or Tuesday! I can’t wait to catch y’all up, and share a bunch of #ootd. So if you’re anything like me you wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is read blogs or watch make up videos while eating breakfast…or am I the only one that does that haha? Since I will be gone I thought it would be fun to give some shout outs to the women online that inspire me the most!

Fashion Bloggers

Lauren Conrad: I mean come on this girl is the total package am I right or am I right? She has been on TV since she was 17 years old, having her entire life broadcasted, and yet she always stayed very humble and super relatable. She isn’t the only one that runs her blog of course, but everyone on her team is amazing. She has two clothing lines incase you wanted to check those out; Paper Crown is a more contemporary line of LC’s and on the pricer side, but she gets us all thats why she also has LC Lauren Conrad which is so affordable and has some really great pieces. Definitely check her out on her blog.

Katey Mcfarlan: She is sooo relatable!! She lives in Fort worth with her husband and newborn baby and they are seriously so freakin cute! I just adore her! I always read her blog while chowin down on some froot loops in the morning! She honestly makes me laugh and I just feel like she is very real, nothing is photoshopped to look perfect! Completely raw about her life which I love because we all have stress/bad hair days haha. Go read her blog!

Peyton Baxter: I very recently found her through social media, and guys…she is literally me 5 years in the future! If you like reading my blog then you will be addicted to hers! She seems so sweet and 100% down to earth! She gives such amazing advice and styling tips, which I am all about learning more on how to change things up and she really has an eye for this business.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend, love y’all and have fun!!

What To Wear: Graduation

Happy humpday everyone!!!

Only two more mondays left of High School and my schedule for the next 4 weeks has absolutely no wiggle room, I am trying to stay sane until graduation. I feel like after everything calms down i’m gonna look back on all the little things i’m stressing about now and wish I didn’t take anything for granted (even my stress LOL). I actually found a letter yesterday that I wrote to myself in 8th grade to open on my graduation day. No I didn’t read it, anyone that knows me personally knows that I am horrible about waiting on things. I remember like one or two things I wished for myself, and the rest well we will all have to wait and see.

Now to the fun stuff, Fashion. The outfit above is perfect to wear to your own graduation or in attendance to one. This is a very bold statement, so confidence is key in pulling an assortment of colors off. I have my sister Ashley’s graduation this weekend in Corpus Chriti. So look forward to summer dress photos on the beach, and also some amazingly inexpensive one pieces. Ahhh i’m so excited!! I will have my whole weekend post up around this time next week.

In random news, I am an early bird like seriously I love the mornings. Now at night I am cranky and can’t stay up past 10 PM. Last night I stayed up until one or two…I cant remember LOL. I watched the entire first season of The Hills last night and seriously convinced myself it was 9:30 PM when it was actually the middle of the night…Really Hailey Really?! Anyways, I seriously have the biggest girl crush on LC. She is literally living my dream life. For all my Laguna beach/The Hills girls will feel me on this next thing…why on earth would you NOT go to Paris, because you and your boyfriend were finally happy?!?! The only real time LC has truly disappointed me.

This post is so random, but I hope y’all enjoy hearing about the crazy Tuesday nights of Hailey haha. If y’all have any specific topics you would like me to cover, just comment down below or feel free to email me! I love hearing from y’all!! Have a great rest of y’alls week, and I’ll talk to y’all soon!
